Mission
To put well-supported technology and tools directly in the hands of local activists working for democracy and empowerment.
Vision
To provide voter file data services for progressive
organizations and campaigns of all sizes, and help them drive long-term
structural change by running effective, fun, data-driven, and highly
personal campaigns. We use the Voter Activation Network or VAN: the same
voter file system
used by the Obama campaign in its historic 2008 victory.
What's New
In March of 2009 we released a large amount of California geographic political data under a Creative Commons license. You can access the repository here.
Check out our two-page guide on how and why to run a data-driven field campaign, and .pdf turnout maps for Orange County, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, Central Valley, Sacramento, San Bernardino, and Colusa or San Francisco and Alameda County on flickr.
Neighborhood Letters are a great tactic, and the VAN makes them easy to do. Click here for a sample letter from the Feb 5th 2008 primary.
